Satellite Radio Launches Horror Radio Show

Now horror fans will have something to listen to on the road. Yesterday, SIRIUS Satellite Radio and Fangoria Entertainment announced the launch of Fangoria Radio, the first national horror-themed entertainment radio show. Twisted Sister front man and horror film producer/actor Dee Snider hosts the show.

Of course, you’ll have to be traveling close to the witching hour. The show will air Friday nights from 10pm to 1am ET on SIRIUS Stars channel 102. This Friday will be the premiere.

The weekly show will enable listeners to interact and get close to the best and scariest in horror entertainment, care of Fangoria Magazine, the longest running horror publication. The show will feature interviews with celebrities and stars in the horror world, listener call-ins, updates on horror movies, and even on-location visits to horror films in production. In addition, Fangoria Radio will highlight the latest horror gossip as well as reviews of movies, television shows and video games.

“Fangoria Radio transforms every Friday night into Halloween,” said Fangoria Entertainment’s Thomas DeFeo, “as the show covers all aspects of the world of horror — from the greatest in entertainment to the latest in Goth fashion. If it scares, screams or startles, it’s on Fangoria Radio.”

Scott Greenstein, President of Entertainment and Sports, SIRIUS Satellite Radio, added, “Fangoria Radio is certain to become appointment listening for horror fans nationwide.”

Of course, what radio jockey would be without a sidekick? Joining Snider will be ‘Scream Queen’ and radio veteran Debbie Rochon. Tony Timpone, editor of the magazine, will also appear frequently, providing his trademark insight and opinions on the latest horror news and happenings.

So what’s on tap for the debut? Clive Barker, Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger himself), Kirk “Sticky” Jones (star of Spike’s Blade TV series) and Billy Mumy (whose credits include the Twilight Zone, Lost in Space, and Babylon 5  television series) will be call-in guests. Renowned psychic Jackie Barrett will be in the studio to conduct a live séance. Voltaire, Goth musician/expert/stop-motion animator will also appear in-studio.
