Guests Announced for Rock & Shock

Rock & Shock Horror FestivalRock and Shock is an annual horror and music festival held in Worcester, Mass. Gina Migliozzi and Kevin Barbare created the event seven years ago because they saw that there was an overlapping audience between horror film fans and hard-rock lovers.

Rock and Shock is a combination horror film festival and multi-act rock concert. This year’s musical entertainment will include Gwar, Nevermore, Twiztid and Suffocation. Gwar is a two-time Grammy Award-nominated shock rock band from Richmond, Virginia and best known for its elaborate sci-fi/horror film inspired costumes, raunchy obscene lyrics, and graphic stage performances. Nevermore is a progressive metal band out of Seattle, Wash. The hip hop “horrorcore” duo Twiztid hails from Warren, Mich. Suffocation is a death metal band from New York.

The 3rd Annual Rock and Shock Film Festival, which is now accepting entries, plans to exhibit the best Independent horror films from around the world.

About the author

As The Genre Traveler, Carma Spence loves to view the world through Genre-Coloured glasses. In other words, she sees the world through a lens of science fiction, fantasy, and horror, where trash cans can be Daleks in disguise and neighborhood forests can harbor faeries and sprites. Magic realism is real! Or at least you can choose to see the world that way to add to the fun and awe of life.
