Kim Stanley Robinson to Speak at Georgetown University

Here’s something interesting. Georgetown’s Lannan Literary Programs will be hosting an event next week that brings together two of my interests: Science Fiction an Kenya. “Writers, Masses, Multitudes: Liberation Movements and the Neoliberal World Order” is a literary symposium and festival featuring American science fiction author Kim Stanley Robinson and celebrated Kenyan novelist, playwright, and scholar Ngugi wa Thiong’o and will be held Feb. 13 and 14 at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. The event gathers scholars, artists, and activists from around the world for readings, film screenings, and a roundtable discussion. About the author

As The Genre Traveler, Carma Spence loves to view the world through Genre-Coloured glasses. In other words, she sees the world through a lens of science fiction, fantasy, and horror, where trash cans can be Daleks in disguise and neighborhood forests can harbor faeries and sprites. Magic realism is real! Or at least you can choose to see the world that way to add to the fun and awe of life.
