Watch Out Creation … Here Comes Vulcan!

I just saw this press release the other day: “New Sci-Fi Convention Company Vulcan Events Offers Alternative to Florida Fans”

This could be good or it could be bad … it all depends on the conventions.

I’ve been to a number of Creation conventions, and although they are able to bring in the stars, they often lack the intimacy and community feel of the fan-run conventions.

Vulcan Events claims to be “making the commitment to deliver intimate conventions to sci-fi fans.” I hope that’s true. I could use some more good conventions to write about.

“Having experienced other events, we know what works and what can be done better. Better is not good enough though. We are aiming for best,” says co-owner Fernando Martinez.

If you happen to go to their first con, scheduled for May 1 and 2 in my old stompin’ grounds of Tampa, Fla., please let me know what you think.
