Science Fiction and Fantasy Art Show

If you happen to be in the Cincinatti area over the next few weeks, you might want to check out the science fiction and fantasy art exhibition at the Fusion Gallery in nearby Bellevue, Ky. The art of Eileen McConkey and David O’Hara, as well as a rare display of sci-fi inspired collectables, will be available for view there now through July 15.

McConkey’s work features deep space visuals. “I am awed and inspired by what mankind has found in the universe,” she says on her website. “The beauty of deep space phenomenon like nebula formations and galactic structures have inspired me to produce paintings with similar color and form, depth, and beauty.”

O’Hara’s work is more concrete, featuring genre-inspired scenes and fantastical imagery.

About the author

As The Genre Traveler, Carma Spence loves to view the world through Genre-Coloured glasses. In other words, she sees the world through a lens of science fiction, fantasy, and horror, where trash cans can be Daleks in disguise and neighborhood forests can harbor faeries and sprites. Magic realism is real! Or at least you can choose to see the world that way to add to the fun and awe of life.
