By Carma Spence

wigi.jpgThe Women in Games International conference will take place at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas, on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007, from 11 am to 5 pm.

the keynote speaker will be Dona C. Bailey, creator of the Centipede video game, one of the first video games to incorporate artificial intelligence. She’ll be taking a look at where video games have been, where they are now and where she’d like to see them go in the future.

Other events will include panels covering why having a diverse development team is good for the bottom line and women and online games. Roundtables will cover attracting women into games, planning a long-term career and more.
