Retro and Re-Imagined Battlestar Galactica Props On Traveling Exhibition

By Carma Spence

Battlestar Galactica shipsThis fall, you can explore what it means to be human … or cylon. Battlestar Galactica: The Exhibition will premiere at the Science Fiction Museum in Seattle, Wash., the weekend of Oct. 22-24, with some of Battlestar Galactica’s most popular personalities in attendance.

“The museum is honored to be organizing the first exhibition devoted to both series,” said Brooks Peck, Curator of Battlestar Galactica: The Exhibition. “Battlestar Galactica is one of those rare science fiction shows that appeals to a wide range of people because it combines high adventure with very personal drama. It explores what it means to be human, and has a lot of fun doing so.”

The traveling exhibition will feature three full-size spaceships, costumes, new exhibition films, music and other props from the original and re-imagined series. Organized by Experience Music Project|Science Fiction Museum, the exhibit was created in partnership with Universal Cable Productions and Syfy.

“Over its four season run on Syfy, Battlestar Galactica … provoked us into examining our world and ourselves through its politically-charged, socially-relevant, religious and technological themes,” said Mark Stern, Executive Vice President, Original Programming, Syfy, and Co-head, Original Content, Universal Cable Productions.
