Each year, the city of Victoria, Canada, brings out its ghosts. Considered British Columbia’s most haunted place, Victoria has a variety of ghost tours available throughout the year. But in October, many groups at different locations host a variety of spooky activities throughout the city.

Highlight for this years Ghosts of Victoria Festival highlights include:

  • Ghostly Walks through haunted alleys and courtyards in downtown Victoria. Visit www.discoverthepast.com/discvr/gwalks.htm or call (250) 384-6698 for more details.

  • John Adams conducts Ghost Bus-tours for the Old Cemeteries Society. These 2-hour coach trips take guests through Victoria’s most haunted neighborhoods. For more information and to order tickets, call 250-953-2033.

  • 45-minute Haunted Horse-drawn Trolley Tours, narrated by a ghostly guide, take guests down dark streets to hear about the scary events in the most haunted neighborhoods on the west coast. Tours are offered every night from Oct. 21 through 29 and reservations are required. Call 250-383-2207.

  • Craigdarroch Castle will host a spooky play, I Might Be Edgar Allan Poe. There is no seating and 87 steps to climb, but tickets go quickly anyway. For more information, visit www.craigdarrochcastle.com.
