Harry Potter Comes to Boston

By Carma Spence

Harry Potterâ„¢ fans will get the chance to step inside the famous wizard’s magical world through Harry Potter: The Exhibition, which opens at the Museum of Science in Boston, on October 25, 2009 and runs through February 21, 2010. The Museum of Science is the first East Coast venue to host the exhibition and the second venue worldwide.

The exhibition will include more than 200 authentic costumes and props from the Harry Potter films displayed in settings inspired by the film sets — including the Great Hall, Hagrid’s hut and the Gryffindorâ„¢ common room.

Some exhibits are interactive, including:

* Enter the Quidditchâ„¢ area and toss a “Quaffle”
* Pull your own Mandrake
* Tour Hagrid’s hut
* Encounter creatures such as Buckbeakâ„¢ and a giant Acromantula spider

If you’ve always wanted to be a breath away from Harry’s original wand and glasses, then you should definitely get your bottom over to Boston before February 21 of next year!
