The Fall/Winter 2008 line up of Broadway shows include six that might be of interest to my fellow genre travelers. (Yeah, I know it’s 2009, but the season is not only over, but there are some shows — not on this list –that don’t even open until April!) The untold musical story of The Wizard of Oz’s Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good … before Dorothy dropped in. Based on the imaginative Gregory Maguire novel, this show debuted on Oct. 30, 2003.

Debuting on Dec. 14, 2008, this musical is based on the adventures of the lovable ogre of William Steig’s book, as well as the Oscar-winning film. The score is completely original to this show.
