A Boston Valentine for Harry Potter Fans

By Carma Spence

stanianevskiHP Fan Trips has recently announced the “Witches, Wands, and Wizardy in Boston…Oh my!” event, planned for Feb. 12 through 15, 2010. Special guest, Stan Ianevski, who portrayed Viktor Krum in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, will host a storytelling evening during the event.

Here’s a preliminary itinerary:

February 12:
Your adventure starts with an enchanting evening filled with stories from the United Kingdom as told by a British storyteller.

February 13:
A field trip to Salem, the home of Wizardry in the United States. Visits to the Salem Witch Museum and other locations are included, as well as free time to explore on your own.

February 14:
A trip to the Harry Potter Exhibition at the Museum of Science in Boston where you’ll have a close-up look at movie props and other memorabilia from this blockbuster series. The afternoon is yours to explore historic Boston, go shopping or preparing for the Gala Banquet!

The Gala Banquet will be held at Boston University’s Gothic Castle and includes dinner, dancing, storytelling and visits with Ianevski.

As an avid Harry Potter fan who has read the books multiple times and of course seen the movies repeatedly, I was extremely excited to see this movie at the midnight showing. Half-Blood Prince is my favorite book and other than 7, the darkest book in the series. Thanks, Simone
