Guest of Honor, Jo Walton
Jo Walton is the author of thirteen novels, two non-fiction collections of essays about science fiction, a short story collection, and three poetry collections. Her novel Among Others won the Hugo and Nebula awards in 2012, and Tooth and Claw won the World Fantasy Award in 2004. She comes from Wales and lives in Montreal. She plans to live to be ninety-nine and write a book every year.
Music Guest of Honor, Dr. Mary Crowell
Dr. Mary Crowell is a geeky musician from north Alabama who is very active in the filk community. Her doctorate is in music composition, and she teaches music theory, composition, music appreciation, and piano at a local community college as well as her home studio. Mary loves to write songs about mythology, gaming, coffee, beagles, and zombies.
Full programming in science fiction, fantasy, feminism, myths, music, costuming and steampunk. Workshops, vendors, meet & greets, dances, gaming, author readings, bardic circle and much more.
About TSFS
Thanksgiving Science Fiction Society (TSFS) is a non-profit organization for people who are interested in science fiction, speculative fiction, fantasy, and related genres (SF/F) in all forms. TSFS was organized in September 2013, following the unfortunate death of Jaelle of Armida, the much-beloved director of DarkoverCon for many years.
TSFS’s primary goals are to:
a. promote SF/F, with particular attention to materials of and by women creators;
b. provide forums for interested people and their friends to share their interest in SF/F;
c. promote SF/F within the general populace.
