NOTE: This website is currently on hiatus. I not sure for how long. Probably until sometime in 2009. I'm re-organizing how the information will be delivered, trying to catch up on some back work, and looking for a better way to make this site your go-to resource for science fiction, fantasy and horror travel information.

The Experience Music Project (EMP)/Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame (SFM) in Seattle, Ore., currently has an exhibition of more than 30 costumes and objects from Star Wars, Blade Runner, The Terminator, Superman, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica and many more of the most popular science fiction-related films and television shows of all time.

The exhibition, Out of this World: Extraordinary Costumes from Film and Television runs through September 30, 2007, in SFM’s third-level gallery space. It allows visitors to examine how costume design incorporates color, style, scale, materials, historical traditions and cultural cues to help performers and audiences engage with the characters being portrayed.

The exhibition is organized into themes including “Heroes and Villains,” “Creating the Character” and “Caped Crusaders” as well as specific franchises such as Star Trek and Star Wars.

        New Exhibit at Hyaena Gallery

        | del.icio.us | Digg it | ma.gnolia | reddit | Spurl | StumbleUpon | Yahoo MyWeb |
From now through July 15, you can see the creepy mirthful art of Nicolas Caesar & Spinestealer at the Hyaena Gallery in Burbank, Calif. This Saturday, July 7, is the Opening Receptions. This is what he gallery has to say about the artists:
Nicolas Caesar is a self-taught artist hailing from Northern CA. Founder of the Scary Art Collective, his artwork brings forth a whimsical creepy landscape populated by beings both sinister and sardonic. You will see glimpses of Sideshow madness within his paintings mixed with a healthy dose of 50’s B-Movie charm. The raw feel of his work twists the familiar yet remains strikingly original. Nicolas’ horrific characters, with their permanent, toothy grins reveal a playful quality to his art that challenges you to keep from smiling along no matter what atrocity they are currently plotting for your future.
The second half of this month will feature the art of D.W. Frydendall, horror artist and illustrator. The exhibit will include his artwork for various rock bands, comic books and magazines, as well as ink drawings from his published Horror collection. Mike Sosnowski at Comic-Con

I met Mike at Haunt X in February. He's a really nice (although somewhat shy) and very talented artist. I found his work compelling and am working on an interview with him for the October issue of The Genre Traveler.

Anyway, I just found out that he'll be at Comic-Con in San Diego next month. If you're going, stop by his booth (#5515) and tell him The Genre Traveler sent you.
